Texas Hill Country — Design & Build
Architecture and construction under one roof — so your design is priced as it's drawn, your budget is protected from day one, and nothing gets lost between the plans and the build.
Our Work
Every project is fully custom — designed and built by the same team. What you see here is the level of finish, detail, and craftsmanship Goliath brings to every job.

The Design + Build Advantage
Here's how the traditional process plays out: you hire an architect, they design something great, you fall in love with it — and then the bids come back $1.5 million over what you wanted to spend. Now you're paying the architect again to redesign it.
That's not a hypothetical. That's statistically what happens. For the architect to hit it perfectly — to design exactly what you need at exactly what you want to spend — is statistically damn near impossible.
Goliath prices the design as it's being drawn. We get to the schematic set — a 50% design development set — and we can build a real budget off of it. If it's over, we adjust walls and scope in the model before spending another dollar on a full bid set. The design and the budget move together from day one.
We price the schematic set as it's drawn. You know what it costs before committing to the next phase — not after a full bid set has been produced.
If the design is over budget, we adjust in the model. Moving walls at the schematic stage costs nothing. Moving walls after construction documents are done costs a lot.
No architect pointing fingers at the contractor. No contractor blaming the architect. One team owns the outcome from concept to certificate of occupancy.
How many events? What rooms? What revenue per event? What finish level justifies the rate? We work through the proforma with you — not just the building.
In-House Architecture
Most design-build firms coordinate with outside architects. Goliath has one in-house. Chris Watkins holds a Master's in Architecture from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor's in Construction Management from BYU-Idaho — a dual-degree background that is rare in the industry and directly relevant to how Goliath operates. He is currently completing the final steps toward his architecture license.
Because Chris holds both degrees, he understands the project from both sides of the table. He knows what the builder needs from a set of plans, and he knows how to produce it. The goal is always the same: permit-ready, fully detailed construction documents where the builder can look at the plans and say, "These are the best plans I've ever seen. I know exactly what's going on."
That level of detail saves money. Every unanswered question on a set of plans becomes a change order in the field. Fewer questions means fewer surprises.
Chris is also a strong advocate for bringing every member of the project team — builder, architect, engineer, interior designer — into the process as early as possible. The earlier the team is aligned, the less money gets spent fixing things downstream.
What Chris Delivers
Fully detailed drawing sets — the kind a builder can work from without calling the architect every other day.
Early-phase drawings that allow Goliath to price the project before committing to a full document set.
Before design begins, Chris reviews all HOA design standards, deed restrictions, height limits, and material requirements — so nothing gets designed that can't be built.
Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion — the full professional toolkit.
Experience across both sectors means the design approach adapts to the project type, not the other way around.
Chris's Design Philosophy
"I want people to wake up six months after moving in and discover something new about their home — and love it even more."
— Chris Watkins, Architectural Designer

For Hospitality & Event Venues
"A venue isn't just a building.
It's a revenue model."
To compete with the highest-end wedding venues in the Hill Country, you need bridal suites, a commercial kitchen, indoor and outdoor bar concepts, flexible event space, and finishes that justify a premium rate. These aren't nice-to-haves — they're what separates a $10,000-per-event venue from a $3,000-per-event venue.
The difference in annual revenue between those two tiers — on a property that can host 100+ events per year — pays for a significantly better build in under four years. After that, the higher-quality build generates more income every single year.
We can help you think through all of that before a dollar of construction is committed. That's the Goliath difference.
Commercial Experience
Austin, TX — Warehouse Conversion
Converting a 20,000 sq ft steel warehouse in Austin's Balm District into a multi-concept hospitality venue: an air-conditioned cafe, an indoor bar, an open-air bar, a commercial kitchen, and a live stage. Full design-build scope.
This is exactly the type of project Goliath is built for — taking an existing structure and transforming it into a revenue-generating hospitality destination. The same model that applies to a warehouse in Austin applies to a 9,500 sq ft building on 100 acres in the Hill Country.
Austin, TX — 175,000 sq ft
Justin Mueller served as superintendent on the 175,000 sq ft Yeti World Headquarters — completed start-to-finish in seven months. That kind of delivery doesn't happen without total command of design, schedule, and subcontractor coordination.
Before founding Goliath, Justin spent 13 years as a superintendent for one of Texas's largest general contractors, building high-rises, luxury finish-outs, multi-family developments, and large office buildings across Central Texas.
The Team

Goliath is a small team by design. Every project is led by the same people you meet on day one. There are no project managers who disappear after the contract is signed, no handoffs to a crew you've never met.
The team brings together construction management, architecture, and commercial-scale experience — all under one roof, all accountable to the same outcome.
